A 45-year-old Peruvian man was arrested in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires after authorities received an international arrest warrant for aggravated homicide issued by the justice system of the Republic of Peru. The arrest was made by agents from the Federal Fugitive Investigation Division of the PFA.
The crime occurred when the victim, after agreeing to a sexual encounter in exchange for a sum of money, was gagged, tied up, and murdered by mechanical asphyxiation in his own home. The National Central Office (OCN) in Lima issued a Red Notice in January 2024 to facilitate his international capture.
After a laborious identification and localization process in the Once neighborhood, federal agents managed to arrest the fugitive. The detained individual was placed at the disposal of the Argentine justice system, and his extradition to Peru is expected to face charges for aggravated homicide, as required by the Superior Court of Justice of Lima.
The detention of this individual reaffirms the commitment of the Ministry of National Security in the fight against organized crime at the international level.
